Terms of Use

Last updated 3 October 2026

The short version
  • Grassly's results and plans are suggestions. Check product labels and local rules before you spray, feed or water.
  • Grassly Premium renews automatically through Apple until you cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
  • Your photos stay yours. We only use them to answer your scan.

1. The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Grassly, 7 rue Toulouse-Lautrec, 11110 Coursan, France ("Grassly", "we"), for your use of the Grassly app and website. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app; these terms add to it. By using Grassly you accept both.

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Grassly on Apple devices you own or control. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for Grassly or its content, but Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce them as third-party beneficiaries.

2. About the advice

Grassly uses artificial intelligence and published turf guidance to identify grass, assess lawns and suggest care. Results can be wrong, and a photo can't show everything, such as soil nutrients or what is under the surface. So:

  • Treat identifications, scores and plans as informed suggestions, not guarantees or professional advice.
  • Before using any herbicide, pesticide or fertiliser, read and follow its label, including which grasses it is safe on. Registrations differ by country.
  • Follow your local water restrictions and any rules about chemicals, burning or waste.
  • For serious problems, such as disease across a large area, or anything involving safety, ask a qualified local professional.

Weather and soil temperatures come from forecasts and estimates and can differ from conditions in your garden.

3. Subscriptions

Grassly is free to download. Some features need Grassly Premium, an auto-renewing subscription sold by Apple. The price, length and any free trial or introductory price are shown in the app before you buy.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase, or at the end of a free trial.
  • Your subscription renews automatically for the same length, at the regular price shown in the app once any introductory price has ended, unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in Settings on your iPhone: tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
  • If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
  • An introductory price (for example, a lower price for the first week) is for new subscribers only and is charged when you confirm the purchase. After it, the subscription renews at the regular price.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • To restore a subscription on a new iPhone, use Restore Purchases in the app.

4. Your photos

You keep all rights to the photos and notes you add. You allow us to process them only to provide the scans and plans you ask for, as described in our Privacy Policy. Please photograph your own lawn, and avoid capturing people or other private information.

5. Using Grassly fairly

Please don't misuse Grassly. That includes trying to copy, reverse engineer or resell the app or its service, sending automated or bulk requests, getting around the daily scan limits, or uploading content that is unlawful or not yours to share. We may suspend access to the scan service for misuse.

6. Other services

Grassly relies on other providers: Google (AI analysis), Cloudflare (hosting), Superwall (the subscription screen), Meta (measuring our ads), MET Norway (weather forecasts, used under the CC BY 4.0 licence) and Apple (search, purchases and notifications). Their availability is outside our control, and some features need an internet connection.

7. Warranty and liability

We work hard to keep Grassly accurate and available, but we provide it as it is and as available, without promising that it will be error-free or uninterrupted.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for damage to lawns, plants, property or health resulting from actions taken on Grassly's suggestions without following product labels and local rules. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Grassly in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be excluded, such as the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law or the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act, or statutory rights in the European Union.

8. Law and changes

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.

We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they apply.
